Casting Your Vote Before Political Swine

On the eve of another Presidential Election I find my heart aching for the state of our nation, but aching even more for the state and spiritual health of the church (the Body of Christ) and my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
My heart aches because, as I see it, the church and professing Christians have abandoned their first love of Jesus Christ. They, like Israel, have played the harlot and have been playing it for a long time. It is because “Christians” and the “church” have bonded themselves to a secular and pagan culture instead of fulfilling their calling of spreading the gospel, being the “fullness of Him who fulfills all in all”, and not being conformed to this world by living holy and righteous lives that we are in the state we are in. The church has lost its desire to live passionate and pure lives for the sake of their Lord and Savior. Instead it has bought into to the lies of the Devil. Whereas Satan deceived Adam and Eve by telling them they could be like God and know good and evil, Satan has deceived many “Christians” and the church into believing that they can fornicate with the world and yet continue to be a faithful and pure bride to their husband Jesus Christ and they are safely in His arms. WARNING! CHRIST WILL HAVE NO PART WITH SUCH PEOPLE. They are workers of iniquity and Christ will tell them to “depart from Me you workers of iniquity, for I never knew you.”
Cultures come and go. Nations rise and fall and will continue to do so. And societies change, but perhaps no other society has changed as much as America has over the past 50 years. So what’s the cause of this?
One, man is inherently sinful and while at times can do many good things, in the end, man progresses towards depravity rather than righteousness.
Two, the church, because of its unwillingness to genuinely follow Christ and fear the Lord has catered to and conformed itself to the world. It has done so in every arena or what I call system. It doesn’t matter whether it is education, entertainment, finance, healthcare, militarism, or politics…”Christians” think and therefore act and look just like the world around them.
All of these things/systems are the “affairs of everyday life” that Paul tells Timothy that “no soldier in active service should entangle himself in.” When it comes to politics and the government, as long as “Christians” continue to be deceived into believing that voting for a certain person, party or platform is going to change anything, the nation will continue its decline. Christians continue to support, endorse and promote ungodly men who are not “able, who do not fear God, who do not love truth and love dishonest gain.” AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED!
Christians” and the church have allowed themselves to be pandered to by politicians who claim they are opposed to abortion, immorality, increased taxes and government spending. Then they, along with the conservative pagans, run out and vote for them (thinking that it is really going to make a difference) The church has bought it hook, line and sinker. Talk about deception!
I am dumbfounded that “Christians” will go out of their way to go to a political rally and jump up and down, shout and scream all to hear someone lie, deceive and curse someone else. But if a well known preacher comes to town, none of them will be there. AMAZING!
Psalm 1 says:
How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
Getting sucked into the political rally’s, inclining your ears to lies and slander is surely “walking in the counsel of the wicked”, it is surely “standing in the path of sinners” and it is surely “sitting in the seats of scoffers.”

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates
day and night.

If they were meditating on God’s law day and night, then they would not be bothering themselves with such matters.

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.

Why do “Christians”, the supposed wheat, want to and insist on voting for the wicked that is going to be driven away?

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Contrary to God’s Word, “Christians”, by their willingness, continue to allow the wicked to stand in judgement and let the sinners into the assembly of the righteous. And then think that things are going to get better. THIS IS FOOLISHNESS!

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.”

Both President Obama and Mitt Romney are walking in “the way of the wicked” and therefore “will perish.” So why in the world would I as a follower of Jesus Christ who is hopefully walking in the way of righteousness, go along with, be part and parcel with and vote for “the way of the wicked?” Does this make any sense at all?

As Christians, we should observe the masses and do the opposite. If the masses are running towards the way of the wicked of Obama and Romney (and they are), then as Christians, we should be headed in the other direction…the way of righteousness.

Neither Obama or Romney will “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.”

Why, why, why? Could it truly be that many professing Christians and the church think, act, look like and go along with the world because they are of the world and not of Christ? Have they “gone out from us, because they were not of us?”
Please don’t misunderstand me.

This is not a critique on the pure bride of Christ, but on those who profess to be part of that pure bride, but are really playing the harlot. The Lord’s pure bride is beautiful and holy and strives diligently to be faithful to it’s husband. Also don’t misunderstand me, I am not saying that just because you choose to vote for evil of any form and unrighteousness, I believe you are not of the pure bride.

It is a major fallacy to say and more naive to think that because Romney favors less abortions than Obama (Romney favors abortions in the case of rape, incest, mother’s life in danger) that by electing him to office will actually make any difference. And then to say it is a sin not to vote for Romney because he endorses less evil is extremely unwise and foolish. Is this how Christians are to think??? If there's any sin in voting, it is voting for evil.

Here are the facts as I know it:
  1. 28 of the past 42 years have had a Republican President. The majority of the time!
  2. 36 of the past 60 years have had a Republican President. The majority of the time!
  3. 14 of the last 18 years has had a Republican controlled House. The majority of the time!
  4. Six of the nine Supreme Court justices that gave us abortion-on-demand with the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision were appointed by Republicans.
  5. The last time Roe v. Wade was affirmed and reinforced, seven of the nine justices on the Supreme Court, were appointed by Republicans.
  6. Republicans appointed the vast majority of the Court that gave us the following judicial decisions as well:
    • banned school prayer
    • declared sodomy a constitutional “right”
    • declared Nebraska couldn’t outlaw partial birth abortion
    • declared Congress couldn’t legislate to protect children from pornography on cable television
    • declared that a Michigan law school could use race as a factor in admission
    • declared that incumbent politicians could restrict free speech of their subjects before election.
    • and now, national health care
As you can see, Christians voting for “conservative” politicians has done little or nothing to stop or reduce abortion, immorality, government spending and so on. Because Christians continue to tolerate and vote for the lesser of two evils, the evil increases over time. “Christians” tolerate more wickedness and evil today than they did 25 years ago or 50 years ago. As long as Christians keep dancing with Devil, and buy into his deception, the nation and church will continue its moral and economic slide.

As for me,
  • As a soldier in active service for Jesus Christ and His kingdom, I will  not "entangle myself in the affairs in this life, so that I may please the one who enlisted me as a soldier." -2 Timothy 2:4
  • I will not fight because my King said that His "kingdom is not of this world" and His "servants/soldiers don't fight". -John 18:36
  • I will "not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!" -Psalm 1:1 Both Obama and Romney are of the wicked, the sinners and the scoffers.
  • I will not cast my lot/vote with them to "lie in wait to shed blood", to "ambush the innocent without cause", to "swallow them alive like Sheol", nor seek to "find all kinds of precious wealth" and fill my house with their spoil and have one purse" with them. -Proverbs 1:11-14
  • I will "not walk in the way with them!" I will seek to "keep my feet from their path, for their feet run to evil And they hasten to shed blood." -Proverbs 1:15-16
  • I will not select/vote for a man who does not fear God, who does not love truth, who loves dishonest gain. -Exodus 18:21
  • I will not select/vote for a man who is the opposite of and does not realize he is a "minister of God for good" and does not "bring wrath on those that practice evil"...especially those that practice and condone abortion, immoral lifestyles, theft through unconstitutional and unbiblical taxes, theft through inflation, theft through a corrupt and unrighteous monetary system that uses "unjust weights and measures" that God calls abominable all to create money out of thin air and hold people in bondage. Romans 13:4, Proverbs 11:1
  • I will not, by my vote/lot, be part and parcel and therefore held accountable by God of an unrighteous mans unrighteous legislation, executive orders that are contrary to the commands, ordinances, precepts and principles of God.
  • I will not select or vote for a man who is a warmonger and loves the taste of blood that inflicts pain and suffering on the innocent (whether abortion or unnecessary wars)...a man who does not "love his neighbor as himself", "love his enemy and does good/prays for those who persecute him." -Matthew 22:39, Mark 5:44
  • I will not be deluded in thinking that voting conservative/Republican or for Romney will do me or this nation any long-term good.
So what are we as Christians to do?
Here are some suggestions:
  1. Seek to live a holy and righteous life in the presence of Christ, my family, my fellow believers the world around me.
  2. Seek to abstain from all forms of worldliness...however hard it might be.
  3. Be "transformed by the renewing of mind and not conformed to this world." -Romans 12:2
  4. Seek to make known the gospel and "be ready to preach the Word in season and out of season." -2 Timothy 4:2
  5. Passionately and politely point out unrighteousness in our world, including the government, education, entertainment, finance, healthcare, etc.
  6. And in turn, point people to the righteousness of God and what His Word says on the matter.
  7. Stop relying on the governing authorities to change society…Instead, rely of the gospel of Jesus Christ to change the hearts and minds of sinful men.
  8. Recognize that there's little historical evidence of any society becoming more holy and Godly through a secular/pagan government and their laws (good or bad) that they enact. If Israel, God's chosen people, played the harlot and had kings that abandoned God, what do you think a bunch of pagans will do?
  9. Recognize that for the past 50 years, voting conservative has led to "conservative" Presidents appointing "conservative" judges that ruled abortion legal, unconstitutional and unbiblical taxes lawful and have not brought about a better society, government or nation in any way, shape or form.
  10. Recognize that both democrats and republicans are really two sides of a socialist coin. They are both corrupt, both unrighteous, both hate God, both evil, both liars, both deceivers, both cheaters, both warmongers, both killers and both drive the nation in debt and consequently, will not inherit the kingdom of God.
  11. And above all…Pray: 1 Timothy 2:1-4
    • (1) First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
    • (2) for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
    • (3) This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
    • (4) who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
